Bon Jovi Announces May 22 Drive-In Concert Event

Bon Jovi is pulling into the drive-in next month with a new concert film, featuring the band performing its greatest hits, on May 22.

The Bon Jovi concert will be the first in this summer's Encore Drive-In Nights 2021 series, broadcast at movie theaters in the U.S., Canada and Ireland, including about 300 drive-in theaters.

The band made the announcement via Twitter on Monday, just over a year after canceling its 2020 tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic and about five months after sharing a free intimate livestream concert, On a Night Like This - Bon Jovi 2020, which also documented the band's first-in person gathering in months.

The Encore Drive-In Nights show will make Bon Jovi the latest in a prestigious line of gigantic artists to embrace the drive-in concert film business in the last year, including Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Metallica.

“Bon Jovi is a global icon and we’re so happy that the band will be launching our 2021 concert season!” Encore Drive-In Nights CEO Walter Kinzie said in a press release. “The pandemic has taught us that there are new avenues for live entertainment, and this model is one of the safest and most innovative options for world-class, fun events for the whole family. There are millions of fans who don’t usually attend live shows, whether it’s because they live far away from the big touring arenas or because of the cost. Artists can now connect with these fans in a completely new way.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 29 — GA tickets cost $89 per vehicle for up to six people. JBJ Experience members can get tickets as early as today, April 28.
