The First Mass Produced Flying Car Will Hit the Skies in 2026

A company in Slovakia called Klein Vision says its new "AirCar" will cost a very reasonable $800,000.  (!!!) Up to a million if you add upgrades.

Even if you CAN afford it, you might not want one. It's technically a "flying" car but not the "hover" car we were promised in movies like "Back to the Future".  (Where we're going, we DO need roads.)

It's basically just a sports car with retractable wings and a propeller in back. So, you can't lift off in traffic. You still need a runway, and a pilot's license.

It transforms into an airplane in under two minutes . . . has a range of 621 miles . . . and a top cruising speed of 155 miles an hour at 18,000 feet.

They'll hit the sky in early 2026, at least in Europe. They're hoping to get them approved in the U.S. this fall.

AirCar is composed of several functional units. Its aerodynamic fuselage provides enough space for the passengers and, at the same time, contributes to better lift characteristics during the flight. Among advanced technologies are the retractable wings, folding tail surfaces, parachute deployment system, etc. The folding tail surfaces contribute to a better longitudinal stability and take-off characteristics, just like in a conventional aircraft. However, in the car mode, retracted tail results in a more compact size.
