With the Fourth of July weekend approaching, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is offering important tips to help travelers navigate Albany International Airport more smoothly. The airport in Colonie is preparing for a surge in passenger traffic, with up to 40,000 travelers expected over the holiday weekend, according to The Saratogian.

To ensure a stress-free experience, the TSA advises travelers to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight. For international flights, they recommend arriving three hours early. It's also crucial to check in early, review safety guidelines, and ensure that your ID is REAL ID compliant by May 7, 2025.

The TSA emphasizes the importance of packing smartly, starting with an empty bag to avoid bringing prohibited items. They remind travelers of the 3-1-1 liquids rule, which requires liquids, gels, and aerosols larger than 3.4 ounces to be in checked baggage. Additionally, if traveling with a firearm, it must be declared and packed in a hard-sided, locked case in checked luggage.

The TSA is also introducing new technologies at various airports, including Computed Tomography (CT) units and Credential Authentication Technology (CAT-2) units. These technologies enhance security screening efficiency and the passenger experience. For more information, travelers can visit the TSA's official website.

Peter Stuto, CEO of Albany International Airport, expressed excitement about welcoming travelers and emphasized the importance of a smooth and stress-free experience. As travel demand continues to rise, Albany International Airport is undergoing a revitalization project to enhance the terminal and improve the travel experience, as reported by News10 ABC.
