Girl Scout cookie season has officially kicked off in Northeast New York, with thousands of Girl Scouts from the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) Council starting their annual sales. The cookie lineup includes popular favorites like Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, and Girl Scout S’mores. Proceeds from the cookie sales stay within the community, supporting local Girl Scout troops, training programs, and campgrounds.

According to CBS6Albany, the Girl Scout Cookie Program is the world’s largest entrepreneurial program for girls, encouraging them to develop skills such as leadership, budgeting, and teamwork. GSNENY CEO Brenda Episcopo emphasized the importance of the program, stating, "Watching Girl Scouts learn these life lessons while they help their troops for the future is the best part of the Girl Scout Cookie Program."

Cookies can be purchased both in-person and online. To support a local troop, visit the Girl Scouts website's cookie finder. The season offers a chance for the public to enjoy iconic treats while contributing to the development of young girls in the community.
