Rumor: New AC/DC Album Will Arrive In February Or March

The long-awaited new AC/DC album will arrive in the next two months, according to an Australian radio host claiming to be in the know.

Broadcaster Eddie McGuire of Melbourne's Triple M Hot Breakfast show says the LP is scheduled for release within the next eight weeks and AC/DC plans to get back on tour later this year.

"There has been speculation, but my mail is there will be a new album released by AC/DC in February or March this year, but also that AC/DC will be touring Australia in October or November 2020," he said.

He added that the new album will, as previously reported, feature some of the late-Malcolm Young's final recordings, plus the returns of front man Brian Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd to the band.

Johnson was forced to step away from the band in early-2016 after being warned by his doctors that he risked going completely deaf if he continued to tour.

The singer has since addressed his hearing issues and is reportedly confident that his new state-of-the-art in-ear monitors will appropriately protect him during future live shows.

Rudd parted ways with the band after being arrested in New Zealand in 2015.

While there have been a few false alarms since members of the band were spotted at a Vancouver recording studio two summers ago, there's been little doubt that whatever AC/DC is cooking up will include Johnson, Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams, who retired after the band's 'Rock or Bust' tour concluded in 2016.

McGuire, however, expressed uncertainty as to whether the fourth AC/DC "old-timer" Williams would resume his spot onstage.

There's still be no official word from the band on its future plans.
