I remember growing up as a kid, one of my relatives having one of those GIANT TV antennas sticking out of the roof of their house. They had the old hand crank that they'd use to "change stations." I'd look up at the antenna from the backyard baffled on how it didn't take down the planes that flew overheard.
It seems odd to read in 2013 where everyone is apparently ditching their TV sets in favor of watching "streaming" shows on their computers and tablets that RadioShack is having a hard time keeping high-definition antennas in stock.
Two weeks into the "negotiations" with CBS, Time Warner Cable still isn't carrying CBS in major markets like New York City, LA, and Dallas. At least in the Capital Region we get Channel 6. But that's not the channel that has 518'ers in an up roar… just ask DEXTER fans what they think of this "blackout." I'm sure one of their answers would involve a resolution with Dexter's "Dark Passenger."
However… I wonder how long this holdout will go on for. I can't imagine Jets fans in NYC are going to run out and buy a HD antenna to see Mark Sanchez "butt-fumble" his way through another season. But it could lead to the idea of your in-laws extending their stay past game time if they have a blackout at home.
