When Ringo Starr found out Paul McCartney had been admitted to the hospital in Japan last month after contracting a virus, he immediately called to see how Macca was. Ringo says, "It was weird 'cause I don't know the time difference in Japan, I didn't even look. Anyways I just thought, 'I'll just leave a message.' And he picked it up. And I said, 'Oh, how are you doing?' And he said, 'I'm fine. You just woke me up.' And I said, 'Well, you picked up the phone!'... And then I talked to him when he got to England. He's fine. He's on the mend."
Because of the virus, Macca had to postpone the start of his U.S. tour to July 5th at the Times Union Center. Ringo is on the road with his All-Starr Band with shows in New York City this Tuesday and Wednesday.
