October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and founding KISS drummer Peter Criss, a breast cancer survivor, has a message. He says, "I want everyone to know that early detection saved my life. Please guys, put aside all the macho stuff. This is serious business. It's not just a chick disease. It's cancer."

Criss will be the special guest speaker at the Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon this afternoon (Thursday) at St. John's University in Staten Island, New York. On October 17th, he'll attend the Celebration of Life cancer support event in Farmingdale, New Jersey. And on October 20th he'll be taking part in the Making Strides Against Cancer walk in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
