Drummer Jason Bonham and former Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes have formed another band after the demise of Black Country Communion, which they were in with guitarist Joe Bonamassa. This time out, they've drafted 23-year-old guitar player Andrew Watt to round out California Breed.

Hughes says, "It’s proper rock, but at the same time, it’s very now. Andrew is as influenced by Mick Ronson as he is Jimmy Page.” Bonham adds, "This kid is amazing. The first time we met, I thought he looked like the white Jimi Hendrix. And he plays in the studio likes he’s onstage!”

Julian Lennon, a friend of Hughes, made the introduction. California Breed have recorded an album of 12 songs and will release it in May.
