UPDATE - 8/13 5PM: Colonie Police say they have identified the man who they say stabbed a 50 year old woman late Monday afternoon in a wooded area near Watervliet Shaker Road.
James Sayers is now being held in the Albany County Jail on a parole violation.
The woman hospitalized is in stable condition at Albany Medical Center.

ORIGINAL STORY: Colonie Police say they found a woman in the woods off Watervliet-Shaker Road near Wall Street, just past the Memory Gardens Cemetery late Monday afternoon around 5:53 p.m.
The woman was lying in the wooded area just in from the road, suffering from stab wounds, police said. She was transported by Colonie EMS to Albany Medical Center, listed in stable condition and her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said in a statement.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years of age. Colonie P.D. is asking for anyone who was traveling on Watervliet-Shaker Road in the area of Wall Street, New Karner Road in the area of Wall Street or was in the parking lot of any business on Wall Street between 5:30 p.m. to 5:53 p.m. and saw the victim or a possible suspect to call the Investigations office at 783-2754.
The victim was wearing tan pants and a blue or green colored shirt.
