A pair of teenage boys was arrested for burglarizing a couple of homes and then using their bicycles as getaway vehicles, according to the Glenville Police. They were stopped by patrol officers near the scene of the burglary.

Eysiah Byrd, 16, (upper left) of Albany Street, Schenectady and Shameil McCoy, 17, (upper right) of Kelton Avenue, Schenectady were charged with Burglary (2nd Degree), Grand Larceny (4th Degree), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Burglary Tools and Petit Larceny.

Police say they found things taken from two homes on Maple Avenue and, ironically, one of the getaway bikes was stolen from a residence in Rexford.

Byrd and McCoy were arraigned before Town Justice Davenport and sent to the Schenectady County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. They are scheduled to re-appear in court on Tuesday, August 19.
