The city of Rensselaer is upping the ante a bit on its bid for a Vegas-style casino.

Mayor Dan Dwyer is offering to write the city of Albany a $1 million check annually over the next 10 years in exchange for Albany's support of the proposed Hard Rock Hotel and Casino backed by Rochester developer David Flaum.

Dwyer says there's no legal problem with it and says it's simply a good business decision.

Up to now, Albany city officials have taken no stand on any of the proposals, and Mayor Kathy Sheehan has not yet commented on Dwyer's offer which is said to be on the table only until Monday.
