While stepping out for a smoke at the Sons of Caesar Social Club on Everett Road in Colonie , a man was robbed at gunpoint, police said, just before 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.

Police say a 54-year old man from Green Island came out of the club for a cigarette and was approached in the parking lot by two suspects demanding money. One of the suspects was armed with a black revolver and when the man refused to hand over any cash, the suspect put a gun to his head and the other man searched the victim’s pockets, taking between $1,500-$1,700 and running off, police said.

No shots were fired and the victim said they got into a dark-colored four-door sedan. Police say there was an armed robbery a short time earlier in the city of Albany but it’s not known if they are related and there’s no video surveillance.
